Six Manufacturers Offer Lecterns for Sympodium™ Integration Modules

Calgary, AB --- March 20, 2003 --- SMART Technologies Inc. announces that six furniture manufacturers are now providing lecterns with space for the installation of Sympodium integration modules. This option provides customers with a wide array of choices when sourcing interactive lecterns. Da-Lite Screen Company Inc., Marshall Furniture, Sound-Craft Systems Inc., Spectrum Industries, VanSan Corporation and Video Furniture International (VFI) all produce furniture that easily combines with Sympodium integration modules. Through these manufacturers, customers can choose their furniture and lectern styles and sizes, counter space, room-control systems, finishes and mobility options.
A furniture library located at www.smarttech.com/products/sympodium/furniturelibrary allows SMART customers to browse and choose the furniture in which they would like their Sympodium integration module installed. The library shows customers the best options and logistics for building an interactive lectern.

Sympodium IC-150 and IM-150 integration modules
Providing interactivity for presenters, the Sympodium IC-150 and IM-150 integration modules are ideal for conference centers, auditoriums and lecture halls. The IC-150 includes an interactive console and is powered by award-winning SMART Board
software. When the IC-150 is integrated into a podium or desk, it allows the presenter to work at the 15"/38 cm (diagonal) LCD screen using the attached stylus to control, edit and write over computer-based material. With the room’s projector displaying the presentation onto a larger screen, the audience can easily follow along. The IM-150 includes all the components and functionality of the IC-150 plus the X-Port 30 multimedia switch. Using the switch, a presenter can smoothly alternate between three peripherals, such as a computer, laptop and document camera. This allows presenters to draw from various sources of information, and use the console to control them.
